Santa Cruz, Laguna –  Team Visayas struck heavily in all fronts yesterday as the Bisdaks got off to a roaring  start in the 7th Milo Little Olympics National Finals at the Laguna Sports Complex (LSC), here.
The Bisdaks are hoping to reclaim the overall crown of the multi-sporting meet they last held three years ago when their three-year reign was snapped by the National Capital Region-South Luzon (NSL).
Raven Faith Alcoseba, 13, of Talisay City National Science High School and teammate Kyla Soguilon frolicked in the pool by hauling four gold medals each capped by the former’s record-breaking feat in the 200-meter back stroke.
Team Visayas also swept the elementary and secondary titles in scrabble behind the inspired plays of word wizards from the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) while USJ-R’s volleyball teams in the secondary division are also one win shy of the crown.
The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) basketball team and the PAREF Springdale football squad also chipped in crucial victories for the Bisdaks in the secondary division.
Alcoseba topped the secondary girls 400m freestyle relay, 100m backstroke, 200m Individual Medley (IM) and 200m backstroke while Soguilon ruled elementary girls 100m back, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and the 50m back.
Alcoseba broke her personal record in the 200m back which she logged last September during the Visayas Regional Finals in Ilo-ilo City by clocking 2 minutes, 29 seconds erasing her previous best of 2:32.
Team Visayas’ other gold medalists were its elementary boys 200m freestyle relay Kim Quirino Montalban, Jon Noel de Leon, Johann Abogadie and Joshua Mikhail Tobesa and Stefany Louise Sa-ac who topped the elementary girls 200 IM.
