THE 1985 Legends and the 1986 Mighty Geeks were all business as they took care of their respective opponents to stay on top of Division 1 in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Sinulog Homecoming Cup which was held over the weekend at the USC North Campus Gym along Mango Avenue.

The Legends, the reigning champions of this division, got 35 points from former pro Lou Regidor to buoy the squad to a 71-47 win.

Not to be outdone, the Mighty Geeks leaned on the 35-point outburst of Arturo Mata to propel them to a 71-66 victory over the 1984 Knights.

Both the Legends and the Mighty Geeks now own similar 2-0 (win-loss) records, good for the top of the standings.

In other results, Edmund Odulio scored 29 to lead the 1988 Barakos past the 1989 Spartans, 73-57, while the 1992 Little Rascals prevailed over the Bai 91, 79-61. The 1993 Dragons also routed the 1990 Titans, 92-57.

In Division 2, the 1994 Bulldogs scored their third straight win after beating the 1996 Chubbies, 59-54.

The 1998 Sipat and the Millennium 2000 remained close with victories during the second weekend of action in Cebu’s grandest inter-alumni league.

Sipat clobbered the 1995 Pirates, 73-44, while the Millennium blasted the 2001 DosMilUno, 63-54.
