FURNITURE and other products from the #iammandaue shop will be among those featured in an exhibit at the World Trade Center in Manila for visiting leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) next week.
Clayton Tugonon, exhibit chairman, said this will give Mandaue products a much-needed international publicity.
“This is the only local government unit that will join the exhibit,” he said.
The World Trade Center expo will run from Nov. 12 to 19. The APEC Economic Leaders Meeting will be held in Manila on Nov. 18 to 19.
Mandaue City Administrator James Abadia said this will boost Mandaue’s manufacturing sector and encourage the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to produce more.
Mandaue products are currently on display at the #iammandaue shop, now simply known as Mandaue Expo, at the City Times Square.
“We’ve been looking for an area where we can display our products year-round. Then this happened,” Abadia said.
He said they plan to hold the exhibit throughout the year in different venues. Talks are being held with local malls, including those in Lapu-Lapu City.
The #iammandaue shop is a joint project of the Mandaue City government and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At least 40 companies, including those based in Talisay and Minglanilla, currently display their products at the shop.
