School principal accuses son of stealing jewelry, cash in Toledo burglary

A school principal in Toledo City, southwest Cebu lost cash and jewelry amounting to at least P300,000.

Marimar Blanc, 44, told police her 20-year-old son Urban Iran Justin was behind the theft.

Blanc is the principal of Matab-ang Elementary School in Toledo.

Police investigation showed that Blanc and her 16-year-old daughter were sleeping in a room when Urban and one Dodoy Barquin barged in around 7 a.m. yesterday.

Police said the daughter saw his brother and Barquin enter the room by the destroying the window. The two men then took the teacher’s  shoulder bag containing cash and  jewelry.

The teenager said  she  pretended to be sleeping  for fear  the intruders  would  harm her.

The two men left with the valuables.

Urban is no longer living with his family and was suspected to have been using illegal drugs, said PO3 Joselito Enon of the Toledo City Police Station.

The stolen items include two gold necklaces, two bracelets, two rings and P70,000 cash.

The school principal went to the  police station yesterday afternoon to file the complaint against her son.
