THE UNIVERSITY of Cebu (UC)–Main and the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) men’s seniors teams will vie to complete their division’s gold-medal pairing in the Philippine Taekwondo League (PTL)–Cebu today at the SM City Consolacion.

UC-Main, which has a current win-loss record of 1-1, will look to beat both the University of Visayas (UV) and USJ-R to clinch a gold medal match against the waiting University of San Carlos (USC).

If UC-Main wins against UV but succumbs to USJ-R,  the Jaguars will advance to the division finals and face the Warriors of head coach Glenn Lava.

The Warriors remained undefeated in four games to book their gold medal match early. They survived the intense Webmasters, 42-36, and dismantled the Green Lancers, 62-28, last Oct. 24.

In other finals qualifying games, UC (1-1) will face USC (2-0) in the women’s seniors division.

Cabancalan National High School (1-1), Placido Sr. National High School (1-1), UC (1-0), and USC (2-0) will still continue to battle it out for the junior boys’ division finals.

All gold medal matches will be slated on Nov. 22, the final day of the eight-day school-based taekwondo tournament organized by coach Avengyr Alob.
