Garbo sa Lapu today

MORE participants will join the 15th Garbo sa Lapu-Lapu Festival today, which the City Council also declared as Youth Day.

However, public schools in the city will have classes.

Only students who participate in the festival are excused from  classes. Lapu-Lapu City  government workers  have  half-day work today as announced by Mayor Paz Radaza .

The festival is a prelude to  Lapu-Lapu City’s November 21 fiesta.

The festival’s Pasahalad Category will have 6 participants or 3 more groups as compared to last year’s festival.

There  will be six contestants for the Festival Queen and the Street Dancing category. Participants are from barangays Calawisan, Mactan, Buaya, Canjulao, Basak and Gun-ob. At least 14 floats will join this year’s event. A higante category is included this year.

Today’s parade starts at noon at te  assembly area at G. Y. Dela Serna St. going to the Grand Stage at Hoops Dome in barangay Gun-ob.
