A MAN was arrested after police caught him with a firearm and packs of suspected shabu in Danao City, northern Cebu.
Alexander Tano resisted arrest by drawing a gun but the arresting officers were quick to subdue him.
Seven policemen, who were having lunch in an eatery, spotted Tano acting suspiciously while standing at the roadside near the office of the intelligence division of the Danao City Police Station.
The policemen approached the man. They said he tried to draw a .38 revolver but was subdued.
The man later claimed he is a worker of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Police said they found a hand grenade and 10 sachets of suspected shabu worth at least P4,000 in the man’s sling bag. The man was detained at the police station pending the filing of charges against him, police said.
