A couple was injured in a three-vehicle smashup in Ronda town, south west Cebu  yesterday afternoon.

Nestor Balios and his wife Haydee  sustained bruises in different parts of the body.

Police said the Cebu City-bound motorcycle driven by Nestor was hit by a Metrolink Bus  with plate number GXV-753 driven by Emerito Lamosao in barangay sta Cruz.

Lamosao tried to overtake a Librando Bus but hit  the motorcycle in the opposite lane.

Lamosao tried to return to his lane but ended up hitting the rear  of the Librando Bus driven by Aspacio Deluvio, 44, said PO3 Joselito de Aquino.

The accident caused traffic congestion in the area.

The couple was taken to the hospital. No one was reported injured  among the passengers.

Police said passengers had to transfer to another bus to reach their destinations. No  charges were filed after the parties involved reached an amicable settlement, said the police.
