Developer Contempo Property Holdings, Inc. said its maiden project, Bamboo Bay Community, offers “many firsts” for Cebu.

Among these are its integrated utilities services, “No Smoking” policy, and a walk-through garden.

Beverly Dayanan, chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Contempo, said the condominium community that will rise along H. Cortes St. in Mandaue City will be the first in Cebu to integrate all utilities into one billing system.

Basic utilities that are included are power, water, cable connectivity and Internet connectivity.

“It’s comprehensive. We’re looking at the convenience for our end-users. It will be no hassle for them to pay,” she said during the inauguration of the development’s first tower yesterday.

With turnover of units to homeowners expected to begin this month, residents will soon be able to try first-hand the services offered by Bamboo Bay.

At present, Contempo is in the last stages of final preparations and detailing of the units to be turned over. All 230 units of Tower One have been sold.

Dayanan said Contempo will prioritize the turnover of fully paid units, which comprises some 10 percent of the total units sold.

Majority or 70 percent of all unit owners are end users, while 30 percent are investors as targeted by the company.

“Our inspiration to make the community was really for end use,” Dayanan said.

Unit owners will also soon be able to see the development’s Edible Garden landscaping.

“Instead of the common ornaments, we will be using fruit-bearing trees, herbs, vegetables, and other plants to landscape the property,” said group director of marketing Bessie Sagario.

A total of 1,200 organically grown fruits and vegetables will be available at the development’s community store.

These fruits and vegetables will be grown on the property, as well as on a 6,000-square-meter plot of land located in Talamban.

The entire development, which is slated to be completed in 2018, will have a total of three towers with over 700 units.

Tower Two is scheduled for turnover in the last quarter of 2016. Tower Three had its topping off last September.

Pre-selling of units for both towers is still ongoing, with Tower Two already 80 percent sold and Tower Three 30 percent sold. Unit price ranges from P2.1 million to P2.2 million.

It will also have several commercial facilities such as a community store, which will sell the organic fruits and vegetables produced in the development’s garden, a coffee shop, board room, salon and spa, and an art gallery featuring pieces by local Cebuano artists.
