Two men tied to vehicle strafing die in shootout with police

Two men linked to the strafing of a vehicle owned by a vice mayoral candidate of the Liberal Party (LP) Cebu were killed in a shootout with operatives of the Regional Public Safety Battalion Central Visayas (RPSB-7) in barangay Langin, Ronda town at past 2 am today.

Wifred Albeos and Marciano Tiwan were shot dead by police who received reports about their presence in the mountain barangay.

Recovered from their possession were one M79 rifle, one M4 rifle, one shotgun, one Ingram 9 pistol.

Police previously raided a house in barangay Masa, Dumanjug where other suspects identified as Sheryl Albo, Jelyn Mejares and Felomina Mejarez stayed in.

Mejarez had a standing arrest warrant for the murder of a cop in Moalboal town.
