A MAN was rescued after he attempted to jump from the roof of a pharmacy in Mandaue City yesterday morning.

Police said the man was believed to be mentally unstable.

Police said the man, who was  in his 20s, was naked when passersby and motorists saw him walking on the roof of a pharmacy on A. Soriano Street.

The roof was about 20 feet high.

No one from the area was able to identify the man, police said.

The man repeatedly tried to jump but was prevented by  passersby.

Firefighters from the nearby Mandaue City Fire Department arrived and rescued the man, who was later brought to the Centro Police Station.

Personnel of the ACERT Command Center later took the man to the psychiatric ward of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in  Cebu City.
