Engineer shot dead in Lapu-Lapu

A freelance civil engineer was shot dead by an unidentified man near a shopping mall in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City Monday evening.

Alejandro Capilitan Jr., 41, of Deca Homes in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City died on the spot due to a gunshot wound in the head.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was about to enter Gaisano Grand Mall  when man suddenly appeared from behind and shot him.

He fled on a motorcycle towards barangay Marigondon.

Police found an empty shell of a .45 caliber pistol in the crime scene.

Recovered from the victim were two mobile phones, black clutch bag with Security Bank Check Book and some ID cards.

Police have yet to establish the motive of the incident.
