A 79-YEAR-OLD woman told police that she lost P300,000 cash to a man who tricked her in offering to  help her find someone who could cure her illness.

Victoria Bingtan of barangay Talamban, Cebu City said she met the man while she was buying medicine at a pharmacy last Friday afternoon.

Bingtan said the man helped her cross the road then told her that  he knew someone who could treat her illness.

It was not immediately known what was ailing the woman.

The man told Bingtan that she needed P300,000 to pay the healer.

The woman rode the man’s motorcycle to a bank in barangay Maguikay where she withdrew P300,000.

The two then went to the San Isidro Parish School.

The man claimed that the healer lived nearby.

Then he told the woman that he would be the one to meet the healer first and have the money blessed.

The woman gave the money that she withdrew from the bank, including P5,000 cash from her pocket.

The woman waited for the man to return but he never showed up again.

Police are reviewing video footage of the bank’s security camera  where the ATM dispensed cash. This may lead to the  identification of the  con-man.
