MONSIGNOR Gerardo Jumao-as died last Monday at the Perpetual Soccour Hospital due to pneumonia.

His remains were brought yesterday to his hometown, Cordova on Mactan Island, Cebu.

A concelebrated Mass officiated by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma was held yesterday at 1 p.m. at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral before the prelate was brought to the Our Lady of Sacred Heart

Integrated School in barangay Poblacion, Cordova. His remains will stay there for nine days.

On Jan. 22 at around 2 p.m., Jumao-as will be brought back to San Roque Parish Church in Cordova for the funeral mass and necrological service. At 4 p.m., the retired priest will be laid to rest at the Jumao-as Memorial Cemetery.

Retired police officer Rolito Jumao-as, head of traffic group in Cordova, said they will facilitate the orderly flow of traffic in major streets during the funeral procession.

“We are identifying the areas where mourners could park their cars while they pay their respects to the monsignor,” Rolito said in Cebuano.
