Laborer electrocuted in Aloguinsan disco

February 01,2016 - 10:54 PM

A 41-YEAR-OLD construction worker was electrocuted in a benefit dance in barangay Bonbon, Aloguinsan town, midwest Cebu.

Rufino Gabatas was found slumped on the ground near a speaker used in the event. He had severe burns on his right hand.

Police said it was possible that the man was electrocuted after he touched a live wire connected to the speaker box.

Police will conduct further investigation to determine if there was foul play involved in the death, said PO3 Solomon Cardosa.

The man’s wife told police that the victim asked permission to attend the benefit dance last Saturday night.

It was only last Sunday morning that the body was found.

Police said the body was not immediately discovered as the area where the speaker box was installed was dark.
