AT LEAST 50 volunteers yesterday inaugurated the Liberal Party (LP) headquarters at the Manros Plaza along General Maxilom Avenue in Cebu City.

Cebuano lawyer Democrito Barcenas, who heads the group, said they decided to throw their support behind former interior secretary Mar Roxas and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo because they wanted to continue programs of the Aquino administration.

“We achieved victory in 2010 with the election of President Aquino. We exhort the people to continue what has been started by also supporting the most qualified candidate for the presidency in the next six years: Mar Roxas,” said Barcenas in an interview.

Volunters of the Mar-Leni tandem in Cebu, he said, are composed of businessmen and members of the academe.

Present during the inauguration of the LP office in Cebu were Roxas and Robredo.

In a message he delivered during the event, Roxas said he will do everything to continue what President Aquino has started.
