A vehicular accident involving five vehicles slowed down traffic flow along the national highway in Minglanilla town on Friday afternoon.

PO2 Nikki Plarisan, desk officer of Minglanilla Police, said vehicles had to be rerouted to Barangay Tungkop and Barangay Calajoan after the accident blocked both lanes of the highway in Barangay Tunghaan.

Plarisan said the accident happened about 2 p.m.

He said that the container van with plate number GXH-891 hit a dump truck with plate number XHS-336. The van later hit a Mitsubishi van (XRY-110), another truck (RLD-891) and a passenger jeepney (GXJ-508).

As of 5:30 p.m. today, the five vehicles were still blocking the highway.

Plarisan said the container van that was traveling on the highway’s northbound lane fell on one side and plowed through the four other vehicles.

The police station, he said, received reports of injured persons who were taken to the hospital for treatment, but he could not verify the information.
