Fifty-three individuals from barangays Cabadiangan and Tamiao in Compostela, northern Cebu graduated from the free basic electrical and plumbing courses initiated by AboitizLand and Aboitiz Foundation last March 6 at Cabadiangan Barangay Hall.

Twenty-four students of basic electrical course and 29 students of the basic plumbing course were recognized after completing the training held from October 2015 to February 2016.

The graduates, who attended the training for four months every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., also received training certificates and electrical and plumbing startup toolkits from AboitizLand.

“Dako among pasalamat sa AboitizLand para ani nga higayon nga makakat-on mi bisan sa mubo nga panahon (We are very thankful to AboitizLand for giving us the chance to learn even in a short time),” said Jherwin Egoc, one of the graduates.

He also encouraged fellow graduates to share their knowledge with those who are willing to learn basic electrical and plumbing in the community.

Corazon Baybay, AboitizLand’s Assistant Manager for Community Relations, said, “AboitizLand believes that as the company grows, so must the community and its people.”

AboitizLand has integrated inclusiveness and business congruity to its programs by providing skills training to meet the manpower demands in the real estate industry.
