THE 2ND RC Goldline Half-Marathon will be held on April 24 starting at the Sumilon Road of the Cebu Business Park in Cebu City.

Around 2,500 runners are expected to answer the starting gun of the race which will also have 3-kilometer, 6k and 12k distances.

Organizer and RC Goldline president Christian Paro-an, also the overall chairman of the upcoming Cebu Business Month, said proceeds of the running event will be used to help in the clean-up campaign of Cebu City’s waterways.

“It’s a bigger and better running event,” said Paro-an in yesterday’s launching at the Bayfront Hotel. “We decided to come up with a beneficiary for this running event so that we can somehow give back to the community.”

Cash prizes, medals and gift packs from sponsors are at stake for the top finishers.

The champion in both the all-Filipino men and women’s half-marathon will get P5,000 each, while the second and third placers will take home P4,500 and P4,000, respectively. In the 21k battle among foreigners, only the champions in the male and female classes will win P5,000.

Registration fee is pegged at P600 for 21k, P500 for 12k, P400 for 6k and P350 for 3k. Entry forms are available at all RC Goldline branches in Cebu.
