Carcar police arrested last Tuesday a man, whom they described as a “neighborhood toughie” and confiscated several firearms found inside the man’s house in Barangay Liburon, Carcar City in southern Cebu.

Senior Insp. Albert Quilitorio, deputy police chief of Carcar City Police, said they arrested Rizal Castañares Cayme, 39, after serving a warrant of arrest for illegal possession of firearms issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 Judge Gilbert Moises of Cebu City.

Quilitorio said after receiving several complaints of indiscriminate firing allegedly by Cayme, they filed for and secured a warrant of arrest against the suspect.

Quilitorio said Cayme has several pending cases including alarm and scandal, robbery, harassment and indiscriminate firing. He is out on bail.

“When police arrived at his house, he tried to escape and climbed the fence at the back. But he was collared by our police officers and was immediately arrested,” Quilitorio told Cebu Daily News in a phone interview.

Quilitorio said they found several firearms inside the suspect’s house including an Ingram Mac-11 pistol, a .45 caliber pistol, an improvised rifle silencer, two .38 caliber revolvers and a hand grenade.
