Vietnamese robbed of necklace; suspect caught

A 23-year-old Vietnamese national was robbed while walking along Manalili St., Barangay Ermita in Cebu City at past 2 pm on Saturday.

PO2 Raydale Sardual, desk officer of the Carbon police precinct, said Thanh Nguyen Thingoc’s gold necklace worth P10,000 was snatched by 27-year-old suspect Raphael Cepida,27 a resident of barangay Opon in Lapu-Lapu City.

He said the Vietnamese national shouted for help, alerting two barangay
tanods a few meters away. Sardual said when they saw the suspect running their way, they immediately collared him and turned him over to the police precinct.

He said the suspect is now detained at their station but the victim refused to press any charges.
