The body of a 41-year-old woman was found last Sunday in a state of decomposition with a dead fetus in her groin area in Barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.

PO3 Lydo Pinos of the Lapu-Lapu City Homicide Section said the dead woman was identified as Jessirie Edar of Sitio Purok Kapayas, Barangay Canjulao.

Pinos said they were looking into the possibility that a miscarriage or an abortion may have caused her death.

Pinos said Edar, who was last seen last Friday, was found by her neighbor Judith Baguio, who was checking the source of the foul odor in the area.

Edar was married but separated from her husband, Reynaldo Jr., who lives in a northern town in Cebu with their two children.

Reynaldo told Pinos that they had separated a year ago and that Edar allegedly had another live-in partner.

Pinos said that initial investigation in the body of Edar showed that there was no foul play in her death.
