Global Business Power supports Cebu Business Month; activities announced

April 22,2016 - 12:52 PM

THE Global Business Power Corporation (GBP) is supporting the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in celebrating the Cebu Business Month (CBM) this June.

Among the CBM’s month-long activities are Entrepreneurship Technology and Innovation Expo, Social Entrepreneurship Conference, 4th Run for the Rivers and the Grand Chamber Awards Night.

GBP, through its subsidiaries Cebu Energy Development Corp. and Toledo Power Company, is one with CCCI in promoting businesses in Cebu.

“We are very optimistic about Cebu’s business prospects,” said GBP head for Toledo operations Engr. Leah Diaz during the CBM launch.

“To support Cebu’s upbeat economy, we are committed to provide adequate, reliable and cost-efficient power supply to draw in more investors and create quality job opportunities for Cebuanos,” she added.

Having Digital Cebu as theme for its 20th year celebration, CBM shall tackle new and innovative ideas on how to improve businesses with the help of digital technology. It shall also serve the purpose of gathering key industry stakeholders to promote collaboration not only with existing partners but also establish new linkages from both domestic and global key players.

GBP is dedicated to fuel Cebu’s economic development.

The Visayas region had experienced rotating brownouts in 2008 due to tight power supply. Through Cebu Energy, GBP put up 3×82 MW coal power plant facilities in Toledo City to address the increasing energy requirements of the region.
