The 21-year-old woman, who was caught in an anti-illegal drug operation, can’t show proof that she is the daughter of a town mayor in northern Cebu.

There was no identification card or birth certificate recovered from the area that was raided to support the claims of the woman who introduced herself as “Monique Ramirez,” allegedly a daughter of Medellin Mayor Ricardo Ramirez.

“We have yet to check if her allegations are true — that she is the daughter of a town mayor — since she could not furnish the necessary papers,” Bicoy told Cebu Daily News.

The Medellin mayor, in a Facebook post, immediately denied that the woman was his daughter, emphasizing that his daughters are both living abroad.

Monique Ramirez was arrested with Arnel Cabiao and seven others in a buy-bust operation in Disco Road, Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City last Friday night.

Bicoy said Cabiao was the target of the raid during which P470,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized from his possession.

Bicoy said that Cabiao has been under surveillance for two weeks.

During an interview yesterday with Monique Ramirez at the Raidsotg detention cell at the PRO-7 headquarters in Camp Sergio Osmeña, Cebu City,

Ramirez claimed that she was the favorite daughter of Mayor Ramirez.

“Oh, anak man ko ni Ricky Ramirez. Pinangga kayo ko’s akong papa. Mag-ulian gani ko’s amoa didto kay tagaan kog allowance,” Monique Ramirez told CDN.

She even claimed that she was at the motel before Mayor Ramirez engaged in an altercation with Loy Madrigal in Bogo City early this month.

She, however, could not identify the daughters of Mayor Ramirez, when shown their photographs.

And she then told CDN that she was an illegitimate child of the mayor when she was told that those in the photos were the mayor’s daughters.

When asked if he will take any action against Monique Ramirez, Mayor Ramirez said in a text message yesterday that he will just let it go.

“I won’t take any legal action because she might have been hallucinating or under the influence of drugs, or probably she lost her mind when she made her claims. And besides, I don’t want to be involved in so many cases because I want to enjoy my peaceful and quiet retirement,” said Mayor Ramirez in Cebuano in a text message to CDN.

The other persons arrested were Lucresio Loberanes, 53, Monique Ramirez’s live-in partner; Carmel Yap, 32, and her live-in partner Alvin Colpuble, 38, both from Mandaue City; Pedrito Sedillo, 40, a motorcycle-for-hire driver; Marvin Hortillo, 40, who claimed to be a basketball referee; Maribel Heyrana, a manicurist; and Alexis Zalsos, 34, a company driver.

The raiding team also confiscated a hand grenade from Hortillo and a .357 revolver with five live bullets from Sedillo.
