For the second straight Sunday, Sultan Kudarat’s Ruffa Sorongon and Kenyan runner Abraham Kilimo were crowned champions as they topped the 21-kilometer race of the Rock My Run yesterday at the Cebu Business Park grounds.

Copping her fourth 21k race of the year, Sorongon ruled the 21k women’s division by finishing the race in 55 minutes and 11 seconds.
Kilimo, on the other hand, dominated the 21k men’s division with a time of 31:28.

Sorongon and Kilimo came into the race in high spirits after they ruled last Sunday’s 2nd Flame It! Run.

Yshy Los Baños trailed Sorongon with 1:06.16, while Ronabeth Saborin came in third with 1:09.57.

Kilimo proved too much for the local runners.

Davao City’s Elmer Bartolo took the second spot with 42:59 while Paul James Zafico placed third with 44:52.

Cherry Andrin and Kenyan Joseph Morori topped the 6k women and men’s races by clocking in 31:18 and 20:12, respectively.

Anne Esposo placed second to Andrin with 36:09, while Maria Geanice Jumawan settled for third with 39:00.

Adonis Singson trailed Morori with 22:23, while Niño Joel Lumuntat managed third with 24:08.

In the 3k race, another Kenyan runner Eric Chipsiror clinched the top spot as he crossed the finish line in 11:24, while Carla Cosep topped the distaff side with 17:41.

The event was organized by P Concepts and Solutions and was supervised by veteran race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE).
