An off-duty policeman from the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) collared a man who allegedly snatched the silver necklace of a male jeepney passenger on Monday afternoon.

PO3 Eliseo Sa-onoy Jr. was driving his service vehicle along the New Imus Road in Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City when he noticed the commotion in Talamban-bound public utility jeepney (PUJ) with route number 62B.

Sa-onoy alighted from his vehicle and chased suspected snatcher Edenuel Hinuguen of Villagonzalo II in Cebu City.

Sa-onoy handcuffed the suspect and turned him over to the Pari-an Police Station.

PO3 Thomas Sarmiento of the Pari-an Police Station told Cebu Daily News in a phone interview that the victim visited their station at about 8:30 p.m. Monday to claim his silver necklace.
