This event is in collaboration with the Department of Health, Philippine National Red Cross, American Heart Association, and Philippine College of Cardiology. Cardiologists from all over the country gather for one single event in various venues to simultaneously work double time on educating and training as many citizens as possible on how to correctly perform CPR.

Mendero Medical Center accommodated more than 700 participants who joined the training, ranging from barangay health workers, police officers, teachers, students, and regular towns people. Hands-on training was given to each of the participants, where they were facilitated by one licensed cardiologist per person.

The nationwide event was devised by the Philippine Heart Association to promote awareness and basic knowledge on HandsOnly CPR to every Filipino age appropriate for the skill to strengthen and campaign to everyone to lobby and support the passage of the “Samboy Lim” Bill, a bill that requires all students to undergo CPR training at least once before they graduate.

Furthermore, through this event, the PHA also wants to gather and unify all stakeholders and uplift the status of the Philippines worldwide in the field of resuscitation.

The PHA eyes this event as a ground breaking world record on being the largest mass training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in history.
