Man facing homicide raps killed in shootout with police
A MAN who was out on bail for a homicide case died in a shootout with police at sitio Kulo, Barangay Kalawisan in Lapu-Lapu City at past 2 pm Tuesday.
Danilo Pahimutang, a 38-year-old resident of the area died due to a gunshot wound on the head.
Senior Insp. Jaime Tolentino said Tolentino shot a 22-year-old resident named Junrey Amoin, hitting him on his upper left arm before he fled.
Amoin, who was on probation on theft charges, was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center while police chased and cornered Pahimutang near his home.
Despite being advised to surrender, Pahimutang fired at police forcing them to shoot him in the head.
