Suspected drug pusher shot dead in Mambaling

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was shot dead for allegedly resisting arrest by a policemen in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City Sunday afternoon.

Rodrigo “Damboo” Amampang allegedly tried to shot PO2 Cilbert Arreglo. “Fortunately, PO2 Arreglo quickly neutralized Damboo,” said Senior Insp. Regino Maramag, chief of the Mambaling Police Station.

Amampang was the target of a buy-bust operation led by Arreglo at past 4 p.m. last Sunday.

When he sensed that the police was about to arrest him, Amampang allegedly pulled out his gun and aimed at Arreglo, who shot the suspect.

Amampang was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center but was declared by dead on arrival by the attending physician. Maramag said Amampang had been in the illegal drugs watchlist in Mambaling.

Amampang was considered a level two drug pusher who can dispose of 50 grams of shabu every week.

Recovered from Amampang were 11 pieces of small plastic packs of shabu, a medium size pack of shabu and one loaded .38 caliber revolver. The drugs taken from Amampang were valued at P62,000.
