THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) are checking reports that some police precincts in Metro Cebu and the province are closed at night.

“That should not happen because police stations are expected to offer service to the community 24/7,” said Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, PRO-7’s deputy regional director for operations.

Lawas reminded precinct chiefs to do their jobs well lest they face administrative and even criminal investigation.

“We should be serious on this thing. Policemen should serve the public at any time of the day, including at night. Our stations should be open at all times to render service,” Lawas said.

He said he will ask the station commanders to explain their side on these complaints.

“If they won’t be able to justify why the stations are closed at night, then they will face investigation,” Lawas said./Senior Reporter Ador Vincent S. Mayol and UP Intern Morexette Marie B. Erram
