THE QUEST for redemption started on a bright note for the Teleperformance All-Stars as they mangled the SSI Warriors, 77-61, in the Elite Division of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.
Ryan Veloso and James Lester Navaja were superb in the 16-point victory as they posted double-double performances to lead the All-Stars, who got swept by the Convergys Converters in their best-of-three titular showdown last year.
Veloso piled up 18 points, 21 rebounds, three steals, two assist and one block, while Navaja produced 15 points, 10 boards, three steals, an assist and a block.
In the EVO League, five of the new league members finally saw action.
In a battle of debuting teams, the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties nipped the Dyninno Raptors, 53-50, while the QBE Generals routed the Blue Ocean Pirates, 72-51. Another debuting squad, the Atos Falcons, faltered against the Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 51-68.
