Province to pilot drug rehab program in Sogod

July 15,2016 - 10:18 PM

THE Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO) will launch its crisis-intervention program in Sogod town, northern Cebu on Monday for the treatment and rehabilitation of surrenderers.

The program will assess and screen the surrenderers with the help of Narcotics Anonymous (NA) fellowship, an international non-profit organization committed to provide support to people with drug problems.

Some volunteers of NA are recovering drug addicts themselves.

CPADAO chose Sogod as the pilot area of the program as requested by Mayor Moonyeen Durano-Streegan.

The launching of the program will be held during the gathering of surrenderers in the municipality on Monday. According to Meca, those casual drug users would be entertained under the out-patient program, while those with heavy drug use would be referred to the rehabilitation centers.
The out-patient program will be implemented at the barangay level. /USJ-R Intern Dafne N. Wenceslao
