Around 500 delegates from all over the Visayas are expected to join the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (MCCI) Business Summit this year.
The event, slated on August 10 at the Oakridge Business Park in Mandaue City, is a one-day learning event where top caliber speakers will share their knowledge and expertise in business and corporate excellence to help and inspire participants.
“One of our goals is to promote sustainable social entrepreneurship,” said event chairman John King.
Participants from , and other Visayas regions are expected to attend.
The business summit is among the highlights of this year’s Mandaue Business Month (MBM), which the MCCI formally launched last July 27 at the Marco Polo Plaza in Cebu City.
This year’s MBM celebration carries the theme “Bold Moves. New Frontiers.”
King said they have invited around seven speakers to grace the event, including Filipino urban planner Architect Felino “Jun” Palafox Jr. and businessman and motivator Francis Kong.
MCCI will also be introducing for the first time a property and investment expo from August 26 to 28.
Event Chairman Sam Lao said the expo is patterned after those held in Hongkong and Singapore where free public seminars are offered to participants.
“We want to teach the market how to create investments, about banking, insurance portfolios and other statistics,” he added.
MCCI will also host a transformational sales leadership seminar, logistics and supply chain seminar, and investment forum during its celebration of MBM.
Other events slated in August include a tree planting activity, A Maze Mandaue, the search for WINNERs (Women in Need, Now Entrepreneurs and Role models), and the Chamber Night on Sept. 2.
MBM is organized in partnership with the Cebu provincial government and Mandaue City government which will be celebrating its 47th Charter Day Anniversary on August 30.
MBM 2016 Chairman Steven Yu said this year’s theme seeks to introduce innovations that will set Mandaue businesses apart from competition.
MCCI President Glenn Soco, meanwhile, said the chamber will align its programs with the plans of the new administration.
He cited the business organization’s support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) which is also the thrust of the present government.
MCCI is a business support organization composed of almost 300 member companies ranging from micro to large corporations.
