LRT STUDY
The Cebu City Council’s decision to authorize the mayor into signing an agreement for a pre-investment study on a proposed Light Rail Transit (LRT) project was met with skepticism from netizens.
Dale Roach commented, “Sometimes I wonder if any new transportation will ever get in the city as there has been so many studies and then a change of administration will put the project on hold. That’s why it nothing ever gets completed.”
Ben He said, “Study after study… and no progress. Only more traffic and health issues for the population but the establishments don’t care.”
Oyeme Zhen said, “We keep on seeing mere drawings. We have BRT…but it has not materialized yet. All studies, no implementation.”
Paolo Tinio Jeff added, “Corruption. Let’s see if they walk their talk.”
Koya Wilson also said, “Some people resist change because it might affect their living. That kind of thinking is what keeps this city from growing. One good example is the jeepney modernization program.”
