The city’s outstanding officials and graduates were recognized during the celebration of the 81st Charter Day of Cebu City on Saturday morning.

Among the awardees were Amor Villanueva of the City Hospitalization Assistance and Medicines Program (Champ); Rosalyn Verano of the Burial Assistance program; Economic Advisor Joel Mari Yu; Fidel Magno of Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP); and Accelerated Social Amelioration Program (Asap) profilers.

City councilor Sisinio Andales was also recognized for his complete attendance in the 12th, 13th and 14th Sangguniang Panlungsod.

For giving pride to the city, the city government gave cash incentives worth P15, 000 to P50,000 to graduates who made it to the top 10 of licensure and Bar examinations.

“This recognition that the city government has given us will serve as our inspiration to also help the community in Cebu,” said Cesar Llanto III who placed first in the 2015 Occupational Therapists licensure exam.

The late Senator Vicente Rama authored the Commonwealth Act No. 58 which granted Cebu City its charter in 1937.
