By: Inquirer February 17,2014 - 09:42 AM

AN actor became a high-profile victim of a street robbery in San Juan City, after two men riding together on a motorcycle aimed a gun at him and seized his valuables late Saturday evening.

Police identified the victim as actor Yussef Esteves, whose real name is Joseph Smisek.

The robbers remained unidentified but police reports described them as riding on a black motorcycle without a plate number. The back rider was specifically described as a look-alike of the late comedian Rene Requiestas and about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and wearing a black helmet, black jacket and short pants.

The robbery happened at around 10:45 p.m. in front of Eatfresh Hongkong Street Food Restaurant along Abad Santos Street, barangay Little Baguio, San Juan City.

Smisek, who was with his girlfriend, Miss Philippines Earth Angelee Delos Reyes, and several other friends, had just finished eating at the restaurant and had stepped outside of the restaurant, preparing to leave, when they were robbed.

Two men riding together on a motorcycle suddenly stopped in front of them, with the back rider getting off. He then pointed a gun at Smisek and ordered him in Filipino to “take off your bag and give it to me.”

Smisek told the police that he was forced to give his bag at gunpoint. The sling bag had P800 in cash, a P35,000 iPhone, another P8,500 cell phone, and a P15,000 pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses inside it, along with four books and the keys to his condominium, when it was seized.
