Cops have identified man dumped in Casili, Mandaue City
Cebu City, Philippines—The police have identified the man who was killed and dumped in Barangay Casili in Mandaue City.
Corporal Ryan Jamada, the investigator on the case from the Canduman Police Station, identified the salvage victim as 26-year-old Niño Alburo from Barangay Bacawan, in Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.
Jamada said in a telephone interview with CDN Digital that Alburo’s mother and uncle personally went to the police station to confirm this information.
Alburo was found on April 19, 2019, in Sitio Kapasanan, Barangay Casili with several gunshot wounds to his body and a plastic bag placed over his head.
According to Jamada, the victim’s mother, Lolita Alburo, told him that Niño has been in Cebu City for a week already,
The mother continued that the victim came to Cebu to visit his ailing grandmother in Barangay Tinago. She didn’t hear from her son from the time he left.

Jamada said the mother got worried when she read an article that came out on CDN Digital about a possible salvage victim. She said the description in the article was similar to that of her son, who she hasn’t heard from for quite some time already.
At this point, the mother asked the victim’s uncle, who lives in Cebu City, to check the identity of the person found by a habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire) driver sprawled face down at the side of the road at past 11 p.m.
This is when the family confirmed that it was indeed Niño who was found.
The mother also told Jamada that she had no knowledge of her son having any fights with someone else. She also said her son had no vices, and wasn’t even into smoking cigarettes or drinking alcoholic beverages.
Jamada said their are continuing their investigation on the case although he admitted it would be quite challenging since no witness has come out. /bmjo
