A 22-year-old man who was supposed to enjoy the beach Sunday afternoon was found dead after his head reportedly hit a sharp stone while diving in the waters off barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.

Joselito Dico Jr. of barangay Babag was found floating and was rescued by Danny Alzate, a fisherman, at past 5 p.m. but he was declared dead at the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital.
One Consorio Bermacio told police that at 3 p.m., he saw Dico having a drinking session with two men.

Some people who were swimming in the area claimed that they saw Dico diving into the sea. Police believe Dico’s head hit a sharp stone underwater.

Police are looking for his companions to shed light on the incident.

In Dumanjug town, a man died after his head was crushed by the ramp of a cargo ship that was about to dock at the wharf in barangay Tangil Sunday afternoon.

While the ramp was lowered, Marcelino Berdon reportedly climbed it.

However, he slipped and fell causing the ramp to hit his head.

Ship captain Domingo Sumampong surrendered but was later released after he and the victim’s relatives made an amicable settlement.
