LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – All seven Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councilors in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, including their Treasurer and Secretary, have resigned from their post last week.

This was confirmed by Keesha Niña Tuñacao, SK councilor of Barangay Pusok, on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

Tuñacao, however, refused to divulge the reason for their resignation.

“Sa pagkakaron sir, dili pa gyud mi ka-release ug official statement gyud kay mag-meeting pami tanan katong mga councilor ug duha ka staff nga ni-step down,” Tuñacao said.

She said that they already submitted their resignation to their SK Chairwoman, Lyka Tampus, who is also the SK Federation President in Lapu-Lapu City, and to the Barangay Captain of Pusok.

“Napa-receive na namo ang among resignation letter pero wala pami approval nga nadawat gyud,” she added.

A copy of their resignation letter was also sent to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

But despite this, Tuñacao said that she will continue to serve the youth in Barangay Pusok, even if she is no longer an SK official. /rcg
