CSU chief backs security agency

August 09,2014 - 01:37 AM

SECURITY guards from Tactical Security Agency Inc. (TSAI) lack in educational attainment while some of them are over aged.

But the Cebu provincial government allowed the security agency to continue their service as a consideration for good working relations with the Capitol, said Civil Security Unit (CSU) head Loy Madrigal.

“We gave them reconsideration because of their work experience here at the Capitol. We have already established a working relationship with them,” Madrigal said.

TSAI and GDS Security Agency won the July 24 bidding for the Capitol’s security services.

Madrigal said he requested the Provincial Bids and Awards Committee (PBAC) to proceed with the awarding of the security contract to TSAI.

PBAC wanted the Capitol’s security guards to be 25 to 40 years old with at least 30 units of college and employed with TSAI for at least two years.

Capitol is putting on hold the award of the security contract to GDS pending review.

“We still need to evaluate GDS since I am not familiar with their security guards,” said Madrigal.

Madrigal said they already interviewed 19 GDS security guards on August 7 but only seven of them passed the interview. Only five qualified in another round of screening yesterday. /USJR Intern Zonah Mae K. Perez
