3 men killed in bike collision
Three men were killed after the motorcycles they rode on figured in a collision in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City at past midnight Friday.
Killed were Pedro Tumulak, 32, of barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue, and his backrider Victor Manatad Jr., 25, of Lapu-Lapu City.
The driver of the other motorcycle, who was also killed, was not immediately identified.
Police said no one saw how the accident happened.
Tumulak and Manatad were headed to Cebu City, while the other motorcycle was bound for Consolacion, police said.
Two persons were also killed and seven others, including a policeman, were wounded in separate accidents in different places in Cebu last Friday.
In Borbon town, Mars Calsada, 20, was killed after the motorcycle she rode on was hit from behind by another motorcycle driven by Christory Quilaton.
PO1 Raffy Tejares said Calsada’s companion, an 18-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy who drove the motorcycle were wounded in the incident.
Calsada and her friends came from a disco and were headed home when the accident occured at 3:30 a.m.
The two backriders were brought to a hospital in Sogod town while Quilaton was detained at the police station.
Three hours later, a 28-year-old policeman was wounded after the motorcycle he was driving crashed in barangay Suba, Samboan town.
PO1 Charlie Miñoza lost control of the motorcycle after he hit a stray dog which suddenly crossed the road.
A 32-year-old woman was killed in another motorcycle crash in barangay Tal-ot, Barili town.
Police identified the fatality as Abegail Ramos. Wounded were the other 16-year-old backrider and the motorcycle driver RJ Yongco.
Yongco lost control of the motorcycle while negotiating a curve, said police.
