A TRIO of exciting games opened up the action in the first playdate of the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association 1st Davies Cup last Saturday at the University of San Carlos gym.
Coming away victorious were Elastogel, Acreex and Stay Clean. However, all three had to go through the proverbial eye of the needle before coming away with wins.
Elastogel beat Polyfloor, 56-51, as Ronald Lim pumped in 15 points. In the second game, Acreex escaped Aqua Gloss, 54-49, behind a balanced scoring attack that saw Erik Valleser, Alex Vidal and energetic big man Jun Villacorta combine for
21 points. In the last game, Stay Clean came back from a double-figure deficit to down Fusion, 51-50, as high-scoring wingman Michael Cinco tallied 21 points.
The tournament gathers Cebu’s community of architects and engineers in a competitive yet friendly league that was formed to foster camaraderie and unity amongst the aforementioned professionals.
The top four teams after the double round-robin elimination round will get to advance to the semifinals.
