UCMed opens Cardiovascular Center

In the name of quality, efficient, and accessible healthcare services for all Cebuanos, the University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed) inaugurated its state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Center last July 4 led by UC president and UCMed chairman Atty. Augusto Go.

UCMed’s Cardio Center promises to deliver the best and safest cardiac care to its patients with the following top-rank cardio facilities: Cardiac Catherization (CATH) Laboratory, Cardiovascular Operating Room, Cardiac Recovery, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, Cardiac Diagnostic Unit, and the Coronary Care Unit/Cardio-Thoracic ICU.

Every amenity in the center aims to provide accurate diagnosis, treatment, and management of heart diseases to promote faster recovery among patients.

UCMed’s CATH Lab offers the advanced diagnostic imaging equipment which is the Phillips Allura Xper Fd20 that allows cardiologists to perform complex medical procedures and produce superb image quality of the heart. Their Cardio Operating Room features the newest heart-lung machine Stockert S5 which is the first in Visayas and Mindanao. Patients can experience optimum recovery at UCMed’s Cardiac Recovery Room where they are monitored closely by highly-trained nurses using advanced monitoring equipment. The Cardiac Rehab Unit offers a comprehensive medical program that makes use of exercise equipment and all other components necessary for the fast recovery of post-cardiac surgery patients with the help of UCMed’s expert cardiologists, physical therapists, and nurses. Meanwhile, their Cardio Diagnostic Unit offers high-end cardio equipment that aid physicians in diagnosing heart and circulatory problems in the fastest turnaround time.

During the blessing of the facility, Atty. Augusto Go said these facilities are comparable to American standards but are highly affordable. “All equipment in this hospital are fantastic and very affordable. I envisioned this hospital to offer cheap yet top of the line medical services just as how UC provides quality yet affordable education for all,” he said. Go also confirmed that all medical services in the hospital are now fully-operational.

UCMEd is at Ouano Avenue, Subangdaku, Mandaue City. For inquiries, log on to www.ucmed.ph or contact (032) 517-0888.
