LONDON FIRE
Netizens voiced concern over a fire that ravaged a high-rise apartment building in west London early Wednesday, sending at least 30 people to the hospitals.
Larry Holder wrote, “If this will happen in Cebu, God knows how worst it might happen with the limited equipemnt (sic) that we had. The fire lasted more than two hours even with their high-tech fire gear, how much more (difficult it would be) with ours.”
Another netizen, Anne Perth, said the London fire should be a wake-up call to government agencies so they can institute more safety measures not only in apartments but also to all business establishments.
The London Fire Brigade has yet to identify the cause of the fire. People at the scene spoke of being unable to reach friends and families who were trapped inside.
