A MAN whom police described as an elusive drug suspect was arrested in barangay Jugan, Consolacion town, northern Cebu early morning yesterday.

Nelson Abucay Pilapil, 48, was arrested in his home where packs of suspected shabu worth at least P200,000 were seized, said Senior Insp. Franc Rudolf Oriol, chief of the Consolacion Police Station.

Oriol said Pilapil had been a subject of several raids by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group but repeatedly eluded arrests.

Drug charges have been filed against the man, police said.

Pilapil and his wife were still asleep when operatives of the Consolacion police and Special Weapons and Tactics swooped in.

A search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Teresita Galanida of Branch 56 in Mandaue City was used in the raid.

Police said recovered from the man’s house were a grenade, a .22 revolver, 23 sachets, one medium-size and two big packs believed to contain shabu.

Oriol said the man was capable of selling 25 grams of shabu a week.
