Quake jolts Cebu, Bohol anew

An earthquake was felt in Cebu at 9:47 a.m., Monday.

According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) the 4.7 magnitude quake originated 8 kilometers southeast of Buenavista, Bohol and is tectonic in origin.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity 3 in Cebu, Iloilo City, Tagbilaran City in Bohol and in Bacolod City.

It was also felt at Intensity 5 in San Miguel, Bohol; intensity 1 in Roxas, Capiz.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama immediately advised everyone to keep calm as operations at the Cebu city Hall and Cebu Provincial Capitol were interrupted.

The turn-over ceremony of patrol boats by Mandaue city Mayor Jonas Cortes in barangay Looc, Mandaue was briefly interrupted.

The Cebu provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management (PDRRMO) has not received any reports on injury and damage caused by the quake.
