The Cebu City Development Council (CDC) endorsed P8.9 billion worth of projects, activities and programs for inclusion in the national budget next year.

Among the major projects they endorsed are the construction of new classrooms in the city and widening of some roads under the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), respectively.

During the CDC’s full council meeting last Friday, a wishlist of projects were presented to several regional agencies such as the Department of Health (DOH) at P5.32 billion, DPWH at P1.79 billion, DepEd at P1.28 billion, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at P193 million, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) at P330 million ad the National Irrigation Administration at P8.4 million.

“These projects will be endorsed to the Regional Development Council (RDC) 7. They will be having their full council meeting on March 18,” said Engr. Oscar Abordo, Asst. City Planning and Development Officer, and CDC secretary.

Under the proposed projects of DPWH 7 for Cebu City, the biggest share goes to equipment for both north and south districts (P1.3 billion) and infrastructure also for both north district (P3.47 billion) and the south district (P536 million).
