THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Central Visayas (DENR-7) has established three stations in Cebu province to provide clients easy access to their services.

DENR-7 Regional Director Isabelo Montejo said they put up offices in towns of Badian and Carmen and Toledo City to accommodate clients from southern Cebu, northern Cebu and southwest Cebu, respectively.

“They don’t need to come here in the regional office in Cebu City. This is also less hassle to people,” Montejo said in a press conference yesterday.

The DENR provincial offices issue permit to cut trees, chainsaw registration, permit to transport the cut trees and certification of land status.
After the issuance of the tree cutting permit, the transacting public still has to get a tree-cutting clearance from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro). The Cenro offices are located in Argao and Minglanilla towns in southern Cebu and Toledo City.

But Montejo said that there are some transactions that need to be processed in the regional office. These include special land use application and community-based forest management agreement.
