Drug suspect killed in Minglanilla

A self-confessed drug pusher who surrendered to the Minglanilla police precinct last week was shot dead along the national highway in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla town at 12:50 a.m. Sunday.

SPO2 Oliver Dacua of the Minglanilla police identified the casualty as 36-year-old Samuel Labajo Calinawan, a resident and a known drug pusher in Sitio Estaca, Brgy. Tunghaan.

He was shot dead while he headed to a bakery. Calinawan died on the spot due to gunshot wounds at the back of his head and on his back .

Three empty shells from a .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene along with Calinawan’s cell phone and P340 cash. He also had a cardboard printed with the words “Pusher kami, kamo sunod (I’m a pusher, you’re next).”

Dacua said based on their records, it was not indicated if the suspects were on board a motorcycle during the time of the shooting.
