The Rock Uniform Solutions-backed 2002 Legendary Lions completed a sweep of the elimination round in Division 2 of the 2016 University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference President’s Cup after they trumped the defending champions 2001 Dos Mil Uno, 67-55, last weekend at the USC North Campus gym.

Proving that they are indeed back after a few seasons of mediocrity, the Lions rode on the broad shoulders of former two-time Cesafi MVP Enrico Llanto, who scored 26 points to power the Lions to the win, their eighth in as many matches.

The Lions now head to the quarterfinals with momentum on their side as they take on the 2003 Stallions.

Batch 2001, on the other hand, will face the 1997 Ronins, who lost to the 1996 Chubbies, 53-54, in their last assignment of the elimination round.

In other games in the same division, the Ronins beat the 2000 Millennium, 66-48, while the 1999 Ninety-Niners clobbered the Sipat ‘98, 72-62.

The rest of the quarterfinal match-ups will see the 2011 Elevens battle Batch 2010, the 2006 Fury will take on the 2014 Underdogs, the 2008 Flyboys will clash with the 2004 Rebels, Batch 2015 will tangle with the 2005 Chameleons, the 1985 Legends will face off with the 1987 Bros, Batch 1998 will duke it out against the 1980 Chargers, the 1993 Dragons will face Batch 1992, the 1994 Bulldogs will tangle with the 1986 Mighty Geeks, Batch 1999 will take on Batch 2000 and Sipat ‘98 will battle the 1996 Chubbies.
